The Szyk Haggadah
9 April at 20:30 Israel

Arthur Szyk was the leading anti-Nazi artist in America during World War II, and a personal friend of Ze’ev Jabotinsky. His Passover Haggadah, produced in the mid-1930s, combines the classic themes of the Passover story with references to Nazi antisemitism and the struggle for Zionist immigration. In this special webinar to mark the coming Passover holiday – and also to promote a coming exhibition of Szyk’s work at the Begin Center – we are hosting Irvin Ungar, author of Arthur Szyk: Soldier in Art; and Prof. Shalom Sabar, a historian of Jewish art, to discuss the deeper messages of the Szyk Haggadah.
